This year I competed in my forst ever long course triathlon. The lack of training saw me finish with a time of 6:29.30. Despite this I thoroughly enjoyed the experence and I hope to compete in challenge Batemans Bay this coming March.
My preperation was very basic because of my HSC studies and some stiches in my foot which I took out the day before the race. Despite this I finished and plan on doing another one in the near future.

School Triathlon
19 October 2013
The schools CSSA NSW state triathlon was a good hitout before my first longcourse triathlon. I won this event with relative ease and came close to snatching the course record. I experienced a fast ride after a poor swim to move me into first on the last of 3 laps. From there it was an easy 4km run to the finish to claim 1st place.
The team event proved to be harder with some much larger schools bringing in specialist time trial riders, swimmers and runners. Our team was confident of a podium finish with out strongest team in 4 years. Our swimmer came out of the water only 30 seconds behind second place to set us up. Then I was on the bike trying to hold the time trialists in sight. It was a tough ask comsidering I had already completed the individual event and they were still fresh. I managed to hold on to a close 3rd after the ride and our state runner, who had previously placed 3rd in the individual event, managed to chase down second place and claim a silver medel for our team.

Age Group World Championship Update

The selection into the team came as a bit of a suprise however I intend to compete well this September. Currently I am looking for sponsors to support me in my training as I undertake full-time University studies in Canberra. I'm finding it hard to train at the moment becaues of the freezing cold weather and no cold weather training gear.
